Highlight: “Community Law Fellowship MOU Signing”

The Firm welcomes you to the launch of a new book written in Chinese titled “萧遥法外” (a pun playing on the Author, Richard Siaw’s surname and Chinese idiom 逍遥法外, which means getting away scot-free).

The book has 52 articles on various legal topics that can be encountered in the daily life and divided into five chapters: criminal, civil, commercial, family affairs, and personal. The cases in the book were previously handled by the Author of his many years of judicial work, carefully reviewed and summarized. It is written in a light-hearted way using cases and anecdotes to educate laypersons, specifically the Chinese speaking population, who may otherwise find it difficult to understand the legal concepts.

We hope that the book will promote better law awareness and help the public at large to avoid getting themselves embroiled in legal troubles to stay 法外逍遥 (free of legal woes).

“萧遥法外” will be available for sale @ $20 per copy. All proceeds from the sale will go to Law Society Pro Bono Services (an Institute of Public Character) to fund the Community Legal Services Centres Project.
